There are five buttons located on the marker. The power button can be found on the side of the marker and powered on by pressing for 3-4 seconds. The record button is located under the power button on the side. A quick tap will start and stop recording when the Swivl base is connected to both the marker and your mobile device. The arrow buttons will navigate notes or slides displayed in the Swivl Capture app. This is a perfect tool to use when displaying a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation for an audience.   
 
The checkmark button has three possible actions that can be changed within the Swivl Capture app. Actions include:

• Pause tracking – Swivl will temporarily stop following the marker until checkmark is pressed again.
• 360° turn – Swivl will record a full a full 360° rotation as a single video.
• Slide view – Mobile device will alternate between slides and recorded image.
